Writer and freelance editor of children’s stories, working in fiction and non-fiction. 

My work has been translated into 17 languages, selected as the winner of The Best Young People's Book Award from Openbook in Taiwan, received a Special Mention for the Bologna Ragazzi Award, and selected as an Outstanding Science Trade Book by the Children's Book Council. Crocodile, was shortlisted for the Alpine Fellowship in 2021. I have also been awarded the Artists International Development Fund(Arts Council) and selected for LabVerde’s artist residency programme in Manaus, Brazil.

Born in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. My childhood was spent in Hanoi and then Moretonhampstead, a tiny village on the high moors of Devon. I studied English Literature at Goldsmiths University of the Arts, London, and now live in Berlin.
