About

Writer and freelance editor of children’s stories, working in fiction and non-fiction.

My work has been translated into 17 languages, selected as the winner of The Best Young People's Book Award from Openbook in Taiwan, received a Special Mention for the Bologna Ragazzi Award, selected as an Outstanding Science Trade Book by the Children's Book Council, and shortlisted for UKLA prize 2023. I have also been awarded the Artists International Development Fund(Arts Council), selected as an artist in residence for UNESCO City of Literature, and taken part in LabVerde’s residency programme in Manaus, Brazil. My short stories for adults have been shortlisted and longlisted for the Alpine Fellowship and the Bridport Prize.

Born in Mymensingh, Bangladesh. My childhood was spent in Hanoi and then Moretonhampstead, a small town on the high moors of Devon. I studied English Literature at Goldsmiths University of the Arts, London, and now live in Berlin.

Editorial clients include: Bloomsbury, Egmont, Flying Eye Books, Tate Kids, Little Gestalten, Phaidon, Thames and Hudson, September Publishing, Simon and Schuster, Quarto and What on Earth Books. I love to work on anything word and narrative based: concept and character development, structural editing, copy editing, line editing and proofreading.

Say hello.
